Community details

Football for All in Vietnam began in 2001 from a collaboration between the Football Association of Norway and the Vietnam Football Federation. Using football, one of Vietnam's most popular sports, Football for All in Vietnam teaches young people valuable skills on and off the pitch. The Sport for Good organization works with schools across the country to create a sustainable grassroots football structure where everyone can thrive.

About the organization

Through the beautiful game, Football for All in Vietnam teaches life skills, encourages participants to stay in school, and addresses discrimination - particularly gender inequity. Its main tool is non-competitive football.

By collaborating with its network of local and international partners, Football for All in Vietnam brings its holistic, sports-based approach to schools throughout the country.

To address gender inequities on and off the pitch, Football for All in Vietnam implements a 50:50 gender split across all activities, gets more girls involved in football, and creates spaces to talk about gender’s rights, and equips girls with practical life skills and knowledge on economic empowerment, leadership, and reproductive health.

Through its work, Football for All in Vietnam challenges traditional gender norms. The organization enables girls to feel more empowered, confident, and capable of entering spaces they may have once thought were not for them. To ensure widespread and long-lasting change, Football for All in Vietnam engages with parents and community leaders, helping change perceptions of gender roles in sport and society.
