Community details

Vision Changers Kenya is a youth-led nonprofit organization that works with people living in ethnically diverse and marginalized informal settlements, at-risk young people, and ex-juvenile offenders. It confronts the systems and patterns that oppress individuals and communities, contributing to prejudices, poverty, and inequality.

About the organization

Through Indigenous and modern sport, Vision Changers Kenya addresses the root causes of hate, discrimination, and social exclusion. The organization utilizes sport, evidence-based studies, advocacy, and community engagement. Its work reduces hate, acts of violence, and disputes among ethnically diverse populations in informal settlements and enables people to take charge of their lives. Vision Changers Kenya empowers young participants by helping them build self-esteem and confidence, while simultaneously providing support to those who are struggling to find their paths. This is achieved through sports-based mentorship that emphasizes education and career guidance.
